Control Panel Standards In Oil Gathering Pipelines

Standards. Standards. Standards.

Setting control panel standards in oil gathering pipelines seems rather mundane but takes on real significance when companies find their staff constantly changing. With operators reassigned to new locations, managers get promoted, and engineers get shuffled among departments – it’s standards that keep things consistent.

As a third party supplier, GlobaLogix took on a small scope project to build control panels for a major oil-gathering, common carrier pipeline and storage operator in three states. GlobaLogix established clear sets of design, programming, testing and installation criteria for new facilities.

Our work significantly raised the bar on how of installations of control panel standards in oil gathering pipelines were handled. We intervened with other E&C companies and guided them, ensuring a steady level of professionalism.

After eight years, the client now has a system of consistent parts, designed in common to meet a single, high standard. These standards reduced ramp-up time for shifted workers and enabled managers to fit right into new assignments. The client has tried to bring in other suppliers to do what we do, but always returns to GlobaLogix because of our dependability, quality and golden standards.

We now enjoy a level of accessibility with this company that makes the process flow even better. “Engineer-to-Engineer” interaction allows for quicker critical installation decisions, which keeps everything on schedule. We have engineers embedded, initially working on the design side, and now seen as the internal interface of the process model, simplifying commissioning.

We’ve tailored to our customer’s needs and helped them maintain the same level of quality and consistency across their entire operation.

“There’s nothing standard about professionalism.”
